Nestled close to the lively Main Street and the peaceful Rideau River, the project strikes a perfect balance between urban energy and natural tranquility. With grandparents occupying one of the top units and their children and grandchildren in another, the design creates a unique balance of closeness and independence. Each unit also features a rentable basement apartment—a thoughtful feature that helps ease the financial strain for new homeowners, generating income that can offset mortgage costs.
The journey to completion wasn’t without its challenges, from unexpected budget changes to City delays that threatened the timeline. The team’s resilience paid off, and the project is set for completion in September 2024. Initially envisioned with a Maibec wood facade and black brick, the decision to use corrugated black metal with red brick—championed by Nathan Kyle—proved to be a winning choice, garnering appreciation from many for its bold, modern aesthetic.

The ReStore is a local home and building supply store offering a wide range of new and gently-used furniture, home appliances, building materials and more, all at great prices and no HST. When you shop at or donate to the ReStore, you help give items a second life while reducing waste in local landfills. Funding from the sale of items goes back into Habitat Greater Ottawa’s programming to build affordable homes for local families.
Like many retail businesses in the city, the ReStore closed temporarily due to COVID-19. During that time, the ReStore team launched their online ReStore (restoregoshop.ca) providing a one-stop shopping of the ReStore’s selection of furniture, décor, and building materials, all at the same great prices.
“Since the launch of our online ReStore, we have been able to generate more than $250,000 in online sales,” says Allan Avis, Director of ReStores. “ This revenue has allowed Habitat to continue building through the pandemic to complete our latest development, Leacross Landing in Orleans, while also beginning construction on our newest 8-unit stacked townhome development, Titus Landing, in Wateridge Village.”
The two ReStore locations at Trainyards and Stittsville are now back up and running and open to the public with essential health and safety measures in place. They’re open seven days a week from 9 am to 5 pm.

“Since the launch of our online ReStore, we have been able to generate more than $250,000 in online sales,” says Allan Avis, Director of ReStores. “ This revenue has allowed Habitat to continue building through the pandemic to complete our latest development, Leacross Landing in Orleans, while also beginning construction on our newest 8-unit stacked townhome development, Titus Landing, in Wateridge Village.”
The two ReStore locations at Trainyards and Stittsville are now back up and running and open to the public with essential health and safety measures in place. They’re open seven days a week from 9 am to 5 pm.
