Before renovations, the home lacked natural light, did not take advantage of river views, had dangerous stairs at the entry, lacked closet space, had awkward living spaces with an outdated non-functional kitchen, was without an entrance from the garage, and had outdated bathrooms plus a shower in the walk-in closet.
Furthermore, the owners were frustrated they could not entertain due to awkward spaces and being isolated in the kitchen. There were unique features and challenges. Relocating stair location and removing the interior kitchen wall opened up the entire space. Introducing a rear wall of glass that optimized river views introduced an abundance of natural light. The kitchen, with adjacent homework area, provides a usable space for the entire family and solves being isolated when entertaining. A garage entry mudroom allows easy access from the garage. The front entrance features a walk-in closet. An added bonus is the laundry on the main level. No shower in the walk-in closet!
The entry, kitchen, dining, mudroom all have in-floor hydronic heating for the ultimate in comfort.
