RenoMark® Renovators go virtual to support Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa
The Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA) has been raising funds for Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa through its RenoMark® Reno Tour for six years, but the annual home renovation event took on a whole new look in 2020.
Reno Tour, which typically offers consumers the opportunity to visit homes across Ottawa that have been professionally renovated through a one-day in-person event, went virtual for the first time in 2020. GOHBA worked with RenoMark® Renovators and Point3D Commercial Imaging to develop immersive, 3D tours of nine unique renovations, as well as Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa’s two ReStore locations. The 2020 edition has seen, over 3,000 unique visitors to the www.renotour.ca website, and has raised over $2,600 for Habitat through donations.
“We are grateful that the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association’s Reno Tour has supported Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa since 2015,” said Alexis Ashworth, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa. “In a time that called for ingenuity, Reno Tour was able to reimagine in-person home visits into a fun, interactive virtual event. It was inspiring to see our community come together to support this new online version of Reno Tour. With GOHBA’s help, we have been able to increase the number of families supported each year through affordable housing.
The 2020 RenoMark® Reno Tour will be available for public viewing at www.renotour.ca until September, 2021. Visitors can continue making donations to Habitat for Humanity through the event portal. Consumers can expect to the 2021 event to launch this Fall.
“We’re proud of our members’ innovation to find unique, creative ways to safely showcase their work,” said GOHBA’s Executive Director, Jason Burggraaf. “This new, virtual Reno Tour platform allows more people than ever to participate, and we look forward to continuing our support of Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa in 2021.”
